Since the age of 18 I’ve used credit cards and really enjoy having credit cards with great rewards!
As a Financial Empowerment Coach, I’ve also enjoyed helping clients select cards that will be most beneficial to them.
For example, I recently helped a client identify a credit card that he used to increase his credit score by 50 points!
There are a ton of credit cards out there but these three are my favorite reward cards in 2024.
Don’t forget to leave me a comment letting me know your thoughts on these cards.

Don’t Shop on Amazon Without This Card
If you’re like me, most of your shopping happens at home via Amazon. Believe it or not, there are an estimated 180 million Amazon Prime members in the United States, so over half of the US are Prime members.
Do you have the Prime Visa credit card?
As a Prime member, if you get the Amazon Prime Visa credit card, you get increased reward benefits. Instead of 3% in rewards on Amazon purchases, you get 5%! The same is true for Whole Foods as well.
As if that wasn’t good enough, as an Amazon Prime member, if you get accepted for the Prime Visa card you get an instant $200 Amazon gift card that you can use right away.
This was previously $100, but went up to $200 in July.
I suspect the increase due to Amazon Prime Day coming up on July 16th and 17th, so mark your calendar.
I spend roughly $3,600 a year on Amazon, so this works out to $180 per year in rewards as a Prime member with the Prime Visa Credit Card.
- Prime Visa Card Perks for Amazon Prime Members:
- $200 Instant Amazon Gift Card Upon Approval
- 5% Rewards on Amazon
- 5% Rewards at Whole Foods Market
- 2% Rewards at Gas Stations
- 2% Rewards at Restaurants
- 2% Rewards for Local Transit & Commuting
- 1% Rewards on All Other Purchases
- No Annual Fee

Say Hello To My Little…Travel Buddy ✈
My finance and I love to travel and we typically take 2-3 trips per year, so having a credit card that has great travel rewards and benefits is important to me.
If you like to travel then you’ll also want to have this credit card as your travel buddy too!
My go to travel card is the Wells Fargo Autograph credit card.
I love this card because you get 3% rewards on typical travel expenses like flights, hotels, restaurants, and popular ride shares like Uber and Lyft.
But wait, there is more!!!
The Autograph card gives you 3% in rewards on gas, so it’s my go to card every time I fill up at the pump.
Do you have Hulu, Spotify, or other popular streaming services?
With the Autograph card you also get 3% in rewards on popular streaming services, so I make sure to have my streaming services billed to my Autograph card.
Unfortunately, Netflix was not on the list of streaming services getting 3% in rewards when I wrote this article.
However, you can check for an updated list of streaming services eligible for 3% rewards here.
I estimate I’ll earn around $350 this year in rewards with the Autograph credit card.
- Wells Fargo Autograph Card Highlights:
- 3% Rewards on Flights, Hotels, Car Rentals, and Cruises
- 3% Rewards at Restaurants
- 3% Rewards at Gas Stations
- 3% Rewards on Transit (including ride shares)
- 3% Rewards for Streaming Services
- 3% Rewards on Phone Plan Payments
- 1% Rewards on All Other Purchases
- Cellular Telephone Protection Up to $600

Straight Cash Homie
You might like cash just as much as Randy Moss, so why not have a credit card that offers excellent cash rewards without categories or limits?
The previous two cards I mentioned have great rewards for specific categories, but anything outside of those categories only gives 1% in rewards.
So why not use a card that gives you double that in rewards?
The Citi Double Cash credit card is a very straightforward card that offers 2% cash back on all purchases without categories or category limits!
This is my go-to card when I’m not using the other two credit cards. I use this card mainly for buying groceries, home improvement items, or online shopping on sites other than Amazon.
If you don’t already have the Citi Double Cash credit card, Citi is currently giving a $200 cash back bonus if you spend a total of $1,500 in the first 6 months of opening your account.
With prices for household goods and groceries still very high due to inflation, $1,500 in 6 months seems very achievable to me.
Reward points can easily be redeemed for statement credit or deposited directly into your account.
I’ll earn approximately $480 this year in rewards with my Citi Double Cash card.
- Citi Double Cash Credit Card Highlights:
- $200 Cash Back Bonus, if You Spend $1,500 in The First 6 Months
- 2% Cash Back Rewards
- No Annual Fee

Summary
I believe these three credit cards provide great rewards when used in combination.
For instance, my combined rewards from all three credit cards is estimated to be over $1,000 this year.
Imagine an extra $1,000 at the end of each year!
In addition to great rewards, these cards could also provide you with up to $400 in bonus money.
Reward points are amazing, but always remember to pay off your credit card statement balances each month to avoid interest charges.
Interest charges will quickly eat away the benefits you gain from reward points.
